Car
From Atherton, start your journey by heading south on the Main Street (Mango Avenue). Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the Kennedy Highway (State Route 1). Turn right onto the Kennedy Highway and continue for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating Mareeba; you will pass through some scenic countryside. Once you reach Mareeba, follow signs for the Mareeba Dimbulah Road. Turn right onto this road and continue for about 14 kilometers until you reach the Emerald Creek Falls turnoff on your right. Follow the road to the parking area at the base of the falls.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the bus from Atherton to Mareeba. Buses operate several times a day, and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Mareeba, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to Emerald Creek Falls, as public transport does not reach the falls directly. The taxi ride from Mareeba to Emerald Creek Falls should cost around AUD 30-40 and will take approximately 20 minutes.
