Getting there

Driving

To reach Halls Falls from Wondecla, head south on East Hill Road. The car park is signposted 'Halls Falls'. Note that Google Maps may not be accurate in this area, so it's best to follow the road signs. The journey is suitable for normal vehicles. Parking is free at the Halls Falls car park. From the car park, it's a 15-minute walk to the falls.

Public Transport

To reach Halls Falls via public transport, take the Trans North Bus & Coach from Cairns to Herberton. From Herberton, you can take a taxi to Halls Falls, which is approximately 12km away. Taxi fares from Herberton to Halls Falls range from $30-$40. Alternatively, you can arrange for Peterson's Transport to pick you up from Herberton.

Located in the Herberton Range Conservation Park, just outside of Wondecla, the falls cascade down a mountainside, creating a stunning pool nestled between two waterfalls. This hidden gem is a favorite among locals seeking a refreshing and off-the-beaten-path experience.The falls themselves aren't known for their size but for their beauty, history, and peaceful surroundings. The walking track to the falls is unsealed, adding to the natural ambiance. The cool pool at the base of the falls invites visitors to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere.While there are no facilities on-site, the short 520m return walk from the car park makes it an accessible destination for a quick nature immersion. The trail meanders through a forest, with a short, steep descent to the pool area. The rocks around the pool form natural steps, making entry relatively easy. Halls Falls is a great spot to escape the heat and enjoy the beauty of the Atherton Tablelands.
