If you're driving from Katoomba, take the Great Western Highway (A32) heading west. After approximately 10 km, turn left onto the Megalong Valley Road. Follow this road for about 5 km, then turn right onto Anvil Rock Track. Continue straight for about 2 km until you reach the Anvil Rock Lookout parking area. Be aware that parking may be limited, so arrive early in the day.

To reach Anvil Rock Lookout using public transport, take a train to Katoomba Station. From there, catch the 'Blue Mountains Explorer Bus' (route 1), which stops at various attractions, including the Megalong Valley. Get off at the Megalong Valley stop.
