Getting There

  • Car

    If driving from Katoomba, take the Great Western Highway (A32) towards Lithgow. After approximately 12 km, turn left onto the Darling Causeway (Cunynghame Road) and follow it until you reach the entrance of the Blue Mountains National Park. Continue until you see signs for Bunyan Lookout. There is a parking area near the lookout. Parking within the national park costs $8.

    From Sydney, take a train to Katoomba Station. From Katoomba, catch bus Route 686 towards Mount Victoria. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to the Blue Mountains National Park entrance. From there, walk approximately 2 km along the road, following signs for Bunyan Lookout. Alternatively, take a taxi from Katoomba Station directly to Bunyan Lookout. Train fare from Sydney to Katoomba is approximately $9. Bus fare will vary.

    From within the Blue Mountains National Park, access Bunyan Lookout from nearby walking trails. Follow the Bunyan Lookout Trail from the parking area, a short and scenic walk of about 1 km. The path is well-marked. From Martin's Lookout Trail, the walk to Bunyan Lookout is 3.1km.
