Ferry
To reach North Stradbroke Island from Brisbane, start by making your way to the Brisbane CBD. Head to the nearest CityCat ferry terminal, such as the South Bank terminal. Board a CityCat ferry heading towards the University of Queensland or the Brisbane Airport. Stay on the ferry until you reach the terminal at Cleveland, which takes about 30-40 minutes. After disembarking at Cleveland, follow the signs to the bus interchange located right outside the ferry terminal. Board the bus that goes to the Stradbroke Island ferry terminal, which is located at the end of a short journey. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to North Stradbroke Island. The ferry ride itself takes about 25 minutes and will take you directly to the island.
Bus and Ferry
If you are in the Brisbane CBD, you can take a bus directly to the ferry terminal at Cleveland. Look for bus number 250 or 253 at the Queen Street bus station. This journey will take about 60 minutes. Once you reach the Cleveland bus station, follow the signs to the ferry terminal. From there, purchase a ticket and board the ferry to North Stradbroke Island. The ferry ride will take around 25 minutes to reach the island. Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance to ensure a smooth journey.
Train and Ferry
To access North Stradbroke Island via public transport, take a train from Brisbane Central Station to Cleveland Station. Board a train on the Cleveland line, and the journey will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Cleveland Station, exit the station and walk to the nearby ferry terminal. Follow the signs directing you to the terminal, which is just a short 5-minute walk. At the terminal, purchase your ferry ticket to North Stradbroke Island, and enjoy the ferry ride that lasts about 25 minutes.
