Riverlife Adventure Centre: Brisbane's Thrill Hub
Experience Brisbane's outdoors with kayaking, climbing, and more at Riverlife Adventure Centre, set against the backdrop of historic Kangaroo Point Cliffs.
Riverlife Adventure Centre is a dynamic adventure tourism business located on the banks of the Brisbane River in the heritage-listed Naval Stores at Kangaroo Point. The centre provides active, recreational experiences within Brisbane's inner city. Housed in the last remaining naval defense depot, dating back to circa 1888, Riverlife sits at the base of the historic Kangaroo Point Cliffs. The Naval Stores themselves have a rich history, having been constructed between 1886 and 1888 as a depot for the Queensland Marine Defence Force. The distinctive pink and green stone of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, known as Brisbane tuff, was quarried from the cliffs from the early days of the Moreton Bay penal colony until 1976. This stone can be seen in many of Brisbane's historical buildings. Today, Riverlife offers a diverse range of activities, including guided kayaking tours along the Brisbane River, instructed rock climbing and abseiling from the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Segway tours, and stand-up paddleboarding. Equipment is available for hire, including kayaks and bikes, allowing visitors to explore the riverfront and bikeways. Riverlife also hosts events and functions, making use of its unique waterfront venue.
