From the Byron Bay town center, head east towards Main Beach. Apex Park is located directly in front of the beach, adjacent to the Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club. The walk is generally flat and takes approximately 5-10 minutes. No costs are involved.

Parking is available in the Main Beach car park, which charges approximately $4 AUD per hour with a 4-hour limit between 9 am and 6 pm Monday to Sunday. Parking is free after 6 pm. Disabled parking is available adjacent to the park.

While the main playground equipment was removed in October 2023 due to safety concerns, the swings and spring toys remain in place, and a new playground is planned for installation in 2025.

A scooter-friendly path leads to Clarkes Beach, offering a scenic route for a leisurely stroll. The park is also dog-friendly (on leash), though dogs are not allowed on the beach directly in front of the park.
The park's atmosphere is often lively, with buskers and performers adding to the vibrant scene. Apex Park is a special place with a rich Aboriginal history, as Main Beach is encompassed by Arakwal Country, a significant meeting place for the Arakwal people and other tribes.
