Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Byron Bay town center, head east on Jonson Street towards the beach. Continue walking until you reach the beach. Once you hit the beach, turn left and walk along the beach promenade until you reach the end of the beach at Clarkes Beach. From there, follow the path that leads up to Lighthouse Road. Continue up Lighthouse Road, which will eventually lead you to Cape Byron Lookout. The walk is about 3 kilometers and will take approximately 40-50 minutes, but you will be rewarded with stunning coastal views.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Byron Bay. Start at the town center and cycle towards the beach on Jonson Street. When you reach the beach, turn left and follow the bike path along the beach until you reach Clarkes Beach. Continue up Lighthouse Road, which is bike-friendly with a gradual incline. The total distance is about 3 kilometers and should take around 15-20 minutes of cycling, depending on your pace.
