From Canberra City, take Rapid Bus No's 2, 3, or 4 to Belconnen Interchange. Then, transfer to bus route 24, which operates on weekdays and weekends, to Federation Square. From there, it's a short walk to Cockington Green Gardens. A single bus fare costs around $3.20.

Founded in 1972 by Doug and Brenda Sarah, inspired by miniature villages they visited in the UK, the gardens opened in 1979 and have since become a beloved family-owned and operated destination. Four generations of the Sarah family have contributed to the gardens' charm and success.The gardens are divided into two main sections: the Original Display, featuring meticulously detailed English village models, and the International Display, showcasing iconic structures from around the globe. Marvel at miniature versions of landmarks like Scotland's Braemar Castle, Peru's Machu Picchu, and the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan. The attention to detail in each building and the surrounding gardens is truly remarkable.Beyond the miniature villages, Cockington Green offers a range of attractions and facilities. Enjoy a ride on the popular miniature steam train, which encircles the International Display, providing a unique perspective of the gardens. The Rose Room indoor exhibition features 'Waverley,' a 34-room dolls house. Visitors can also enjoy a meal at the licensed Garden Café or utilize the free BBQ facilities and picnic areas. The gardens are fully wheelchair accessible, ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience.
