    Walking

    From the center of Piper Street, the Kyneton Museum is easily accessible on foot. It is located at 67 Piper Street. Walking east or west along Piper Street, you'll find the museum on the northern side of the street. Look for the prominent bluestone building.

    Public Transport

    The Kyneton Train Station is located a short distance from the Kyneton Museum. From the station, you can take a local bus. The Kyneton Town Bus Service can take you closer to the museum. Alight at a stop on Piper Street and walk a short distance to the museum. A single fare on the bus is around $3 - $5.

    Driving

    If driving, approach Kyneton via the Calder Freeway (M79). Once in Kyneton, follow the signs to Piper Street. The museum is located at 67 Piper Street. There is free parking available in the Kyneton business district. Most parking within the shopping precinct has a 1.5 or 2-hour limit. There are also all-day car parks within 100m of Mollison or High Streets.

    The Kyneton Museum, located on historic Piper Street, provides a captivating look into the past of Kyneton and the surrounding Macedon Ranges. The museum is situated in a National Trust-recognized bluestone building that was originally constructed in 1856 as a branch of the Bank of New South Wales. Inside, visitors can explore a collection of over 9,000 items that reflect the lives of residents from the early settlement period to around the 1930s. The exhibits include fine china, lace, furniture, agricultural equipment, wagons, carriages, costumes, saddles, and tools. Changing exhibitions are presented in the original banking chamber, while upstairs, the bank manager's residence is preserved to reflect its historical appearance. Outside, the museum features original bluestone stables, a separate kitchen building, a laundry, and Theaden Cottage. The grounds also display a variety of carriages and historical agricultural equipment. The museum is operated by the Macedon Ranges Shire Council with support from the Friends of the Kyneton Museum.
