If you're traveling by car, Melbourne General Cemetery is located at College Crescent, Parkville, VIC 3052. From Central Victoria, take the Calder Freeway (M79) towards Melbourne. As you approach Melbourne, merge onto the Tullamarine Freeway (M2) towards the city. Continue on the Tullamarine Freeway and take the exit toward Flemington Road. Follow Flemington Road, then turn right onto Royal Parade. Continue until you reach College Crescent, where you will find the cemetery entrance. Parking is available on-site, but be mindful of any parking regulations.
Public Transport
For those using public transport, start by taking a train from your nearest station in Central Victoria to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. Once at Southern Cross Station, transfer to the City Loop train service. Board a train heading towards the Upfield line, and alight at the Parkville station. From Parkville station, you can either walk (approximately 15-20 minutes) to the cemetery by heading northeast along Royal Parade and turning left onto College Crescent, or catch a local bus (route 505) which will take you closer to the cemetery entrance. Be sure to check the local bus schedules for any service changes.
