Car
If you are driving, head southeast on the Great Western Highway (A32) from Central West. Follow the signs for Western Freeway/Melbourne. Merge onto the M80 Ring Road towards Melbourne. Continue on the M80 Ring Road and then take the exit onto the Hume Freeway (M31) towards Melbourne. Follow the signs for Citylink to enter the city. Once in Melbourne, take the exit toward Kings Way/City. Continue on Kings Way, then turn onto St Kilda Road. The National Gallery of Victoria will be on your left at 180 St Kilda Rd. Parking is available at nearby facilities which usually incur a fee.

To reach the National Gallery of Victoria using public transport, start by taking a train from your nearest station in Central West to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. You may need to transfer lines depending on your starting point. After arriving at Southern Cross, take the tram number 1 (South Melbourne Beach) or 67 (Melbourne University) from the tram stop near Southern Cross Station. Get off at the Arts Centre stop. From there, it is a short walk across the road to the National Gallery of Victoria located at 180 St Kilda Rd. Note that tram rides generally cost around AUD 4.50 for a single trip.
