Getting there

Bus

From Port Douglas, head to the nearest bus stop located on Macrossan Street. Take the 'Shuttle Bus to Mossman Gorge' which operates regularly throughout the day. Inform the driver that you would like to go to the Gondwana Rain Forest. The bus will drop you off at the entrance of the forest. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance to avoid long waiting times.

Bicycle

If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Port Douglas. Start on Macrossan Street heading north and follow the signs to the scenic coastal road. Continue on the road until you reach the intersection with Mossman-Daintree Road. Turn left onto Mossman-Daintree Road and follow it until you see signs for the Gondwana Rain Forest. The total distance is approximately 30 kilometers, so plan for a leisurely ride with breaks along the way.

Walking Tour

For those who enjoy walking, start at the Port Douglas Information Centre on Macrossan Street. Head north along the coast until you reach the Four Mile Beach. Continue walking along the beach until you reach the end, then follow the path leading to the Mossman-Daintree Road. From there, you may need to walk along the road towards the Gondwana Rain Forest, which is about 30 kilometers away, so be prepared for a long trek, and consider breaking it up over two days with an overnight stay in a nearby accommodation.
