    ANZAC Hill, known as Untyeyetwelye or Atnelkentyarliweke to the local Arrernte people, is a significant landmark in Alice Springs. Standing at 608 meters (1,995 feet), it provides 360-degree panoramic views of Alice Springs and the surrounding MacDonnell Ranges. The ANZAC Hill Memorial was unveiled on Anzac Day, April 25, 1934, and was originally dedicated to those who served in World War I. It has since become a memorial to all who have served in the defense of Australia in all wars. The memorial was designed by Rev. Harry Griffiths, whose ashes, along with his wife's, were placed there in 1987. During World War II, the area around ANZAC Hill was used as a military base, particularly by the Darwin Overland Maintenance Force. Today, visitors can explore the memorial, read informative plaques detailing Australia's military history, and appreciate the breathtaking views, especially at sunrise or sunset.
