Car
If you are driving, start from Victor Harbor or Goolwa. From Victor Harbor, take the Encounter Bay Road (B37) heading east. Continue along the road until you reach the intersection with Main South Road (B1). Turn left onto Main South Road and follow the signs towards Cape Jervis. Continue for about 25 kilometers until you reach Cape Jervis. From there, take the ferry to Kangaroo Island. Once you arrive at Penneshaw, follow the signs to the Playford Highway and then turn onto Hog Bay Road. Continue until you reach the sign for Cape Willoughby Conservation Park. The lighthouse is located within the park, and there is a parking area available.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transport, you can take a bus from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. Once in Victor Harbor, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to Cape Jervis (approximately 30 minutes). From Cape Jervis, you can catch the ferry to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. After disembarking, you will need to either rent a car or take a taxi to reach the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse. The drive from Penneshaw to the lighthouse will take around 30 minutes, following the same route as described for drivers.
Walking
Once you arrive at Cape Willoughby Conservation Park, there are walking trails available that lead you to the lighthouse. The trails are well-marked and provide stunning views of the coastline. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, and remember to bring water and snacks, as there are limited facilities within the park.
