Ikara Safari Camp provides a luxurious 'glamping' experience nestled within the Wilpena Pound Resort, offering a stylish and secluded accommodation option. Located approximately 400 kilometers north of Adelaide, in the heart of South Australia's Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, the camp features 15 spacious safari tents, each designed for comfort and immersion in the natural environment. Each tent features a king-size bed (which can be split), a modern ensuite bathroom, luxury amenities, reverse cycle air-conditioning, power, and a private deck with a fire pit. The tents are positioned to maximize views of the sunset over Wilpena Pound, a natural amphitheater of mountains. Guests at Ikara Safari Camp can enjoy a variety of activities, including guided walking tours with local Adnyamathanha guides, 4WD tours into outback gorges, and scenic flights over Wilpena Pound and Lake Eyre. The main resort offers dining facilities, a swimming pool, a shop, and a visitor information center with details on hiking trails and the region's diverse flora and fauna.

    Getting There

    Driving

    From Hawker, drive north on the Hawker-Wilpena Road. The Ikara Safari Camp is located within the Wilpena Pound Resort, approximately 50km from Hawker. Follow the signs to the resort upon approach. Note that some roads in the area are unsealed and may require a 4WD vehicle. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is available at the resort.
