Getting There

• Car

There is no entry fee for the park.

  Public transport options are limited in this remote area. The closest bus service is from Adelaide to Port Augusta, operated by Greyhound Australia. From Port Augusta, you will need to hire a taxi or arrange for a ride to Hawker, which is the nearest town. Once in Hawker, you can hire a local taxi to take you to Dutchmans Stern Conservation Park. It's advisable to arrange this in advance, as local taxi services may not be available on-demand.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling to Dutchmans Stern is an option if you are already in Hawker. You can cycle along Flinders Ranges Way (B83) towards the park. • Walking

  If you're feeling particularly adventurous and are in good shape, you could consider hiking to Dutchmans Stern. However, this would require a significant amount of planning and is not recommended for inexperienced hikers due to the distance and terrain. The walk would be approximately 26 kilometers from Hawker along the Flinders Ranges Way.
