Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the main township of Wilpena Pound. From Wilpena Pound, head south on the Flinders Ranges Way (Brachina Gorge Road). Continue on this road for approximately 18 kilometers until you reach the sign for Bunyeroo Valley Lookout. Turn onto Bunyeroo Valley Road, and follow this road for about 7 kilometers. The lookout will be on your right. There are no entry fees for visiting the lookout.
Public Transportation
Using public transportation to reach Bunyeroo Valley Lookout can be challenging, as direct services may not be available. However, you can take a bus from Adelaide to Hawker, which operates several times a week. From Hawker, you would need to arrange a taxi or local shuttle service to Wilpena Pound (approximately 35 kilometers away). Once in Wilpena Pound, follow the car guidance provided above to reach Bunyeroo Valley Lookout. Be sure to check local bus schedules in advance, as services may vary.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, biking to Bunyeroo Valley Lookout is possible. From Wilpena Pound, you can cycle south along Flinders Ranges Way (Brachina Gorge Road). The distance is about 18 kilometers to the turn-off for Bunyeroo Valley Road. Please ensure that you have adequate supplies and water, as the terrain can be challenging and the weather can be hot. Always wear a helmet and follow local cycling regulations.
Walking/Hiking
If you prefer to hike, it is possible to walk from Wilpena Pound to Bunyeroo Valley Lookout, though it's a significant distance. The hike is approximately 25 kilometers one way and should only be undertaken by experienced hikers.
