Getting There

    From the Paynesville car park near the Yacht Club, walk to the Raymond Island Ferry. The ferry is free for pedestrians and departs every 20 minutes. On arrival at Raymond Island, the Koala Trail begins immediately at the ferry park. Follow the signs for the Koala Trail, an easy 1.2km loop.

  • Public Transport

    From Bairnsdale, take the V/Line bus to Paynesville. Alight near the Raymond Island Ferry terminal. Walk onto the ferry as a foot passenger for a free ride to Raymond Island. The Koala Trail commences as you disembark.

  • Driving

    Drive to Paynesville and follow the signs to the Raymond Island Ferry. Parking is available near the Gilsenan Reserve on Fleisher Street. Park the car and walk onto the ferry as a foot passenger (free). Alternatively, you can take your car on the ferry for a fee. As of July 2025, the fee is $13 each way. Payment is by EFTPOS only.
