Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from Kingscote, make your way to the bus stop on the main street. Take the bus to American River, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. Once you arrive at American River, you will need to walk towards the North Cape area. Follow the signs towards Pelican Lagoon, and continue along the walking trails. The path will eventually lead you towards North Cape. The Turner Dr Lookout is located a short distance from the main walking paths. Keep an eye out for the lookout signs that will guide you to the exact location.

• Bicycle

  Start at Kingscote and rent a bicycle from a local rental shop. Head towards the North Coast Road, which will take you out of Kingscote. Cycle along the scenic route towards American River, which is about 15 km away. Once you reach American River, continue cycling towards North Cape. There are designated bike paths, and be sure to follow the signs that direct you to Turner Dr Lookout. It’s about a 5 km ride from the American River area to the lookout.

• Bus

  From Penneshaw, take the bus towards Kingscote. Once you arrive in Kingscote, switch to a bus heading to American River. After arriving at American River, you can either walk or rent a bicycle to reach Turner Dr Lookout. If walking, refer to the pedestrian path signs leading to North Cape. If cycling, follow the bike routes as previously described.
