    Getting There

    Car

    From the main entrance of Mount Kosciuszko National Park, head south on Kosciuszko Road. Continue for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the Thredbo Resort area. Follow the signs to the Thredbo Chairlift, where you can park your vehicle (please note that parking fees may apply). Once parked, take the Thredbo Chairlift to the top of the mountain, which will provide stunning views along the way. The chairlift ride costs around AUD 40 for a return ticket.

    Walking

    After disembarking from the chairlift, follow the well-marked Australian Alps Walking Track towards Cootapatamba Lookout. The walk is approximately 1.5 kilometers and should take about 30-45 minutes at a leisurely pace. The trail is relatively easy, but be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the highest lake in Australia.

    Public Transport

    If you are traveling by public transport, take a bus from Jindabyne to Thredbo. Check the local bus service schedules for the most current information. Once you arrive in Thredbo, follow the same steps as above by taking the Thredbo Chairlift to the mountain and then walking to Cootapatamba Lookout.
