If you're driving, start by heading towards Thredbo, which is the closest town to Kosciuszko National Park. From Thredbo, follow the signs to the Kosciuszko National Park entrance. There is an entry fee for vehicles, which is approximately AUD 17 per car for a day pass. Once inside the park, continue on the Kosciuszko Road, which leads to the Thredbo Resort area. Park your vehicle in the designated parking area near the Thredbo chairlift.

From the Thredbo Resort parking area, purchase a ticket for the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift, which operates during the warmer months. The chairlift ride takes about 15-20 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The cost for a one-way chairlift ticket is around AUD 25, while a round trip is approximately AUD 40 as of 2023.

Once you disembark the chairlift, you will be at the top station. From here, follow the clearly marked walking trail towards the Kosciuszko lookout.
