Car
If you are driving, head towards the Mount Kosciuszko National Park. From Jindabyne, take the Kosciuszko Road (B72) towards the park entrance. You will need to pay an entrance fee of approximately AUD 17 per vehicle. After entering the park, continue on Kosciuszko Road until you reach the Thredbo Resort area. Follow signs for Thredbo and park your car in the designated parking area. From there, take the Thredbo Chairlift to the top of the mountain, which costs around AUD 40 for a return trip.
Chairlift & Hiking
Once you reach the top of the chairlift, you will be at the start of the Summit Walk. The walk to Seamans Hut is approximately 1.5 km (about 30 minutes) from the chairlift station. Follow the well-marked path towards the summit of Mount Kosciuszko, and look for signs directing you to Seamans Hut. The trail is relatively easy and offers stunning views along the way.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a bus from Jindabyne to Thredbo during the ski season or summer months. Check the local bus schedules for availability. Once you arrive in Thredbo, follow the directions for the chairlift as mentioned previously. Ensure to check the bus return times to avoid being stranded.
