Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the central area of Mount Wellington, head onto Huon Road (A6) and follow the signs for Mount Wellington. Continue for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the Pinnacle Road turnoff. Take a left onto Pinnacle Road and follow it all the way to the summit. Please note that there is a parking fee of $2 per hour for parking at the Pinnacle. Make sure to arrive early as parking can fill up quickly, especially on weekends.

    To reach kunanyi / Mount Wellington using public transportation, start by taking the Metro Tasmania bus number 446 from the Hobart CBD (bus stop on Elizabeth Street). The bus will take you to the 'Fern Tree' stop, which is the closest public transport point to the mountain. From there, you will need to walk approximately 5 kilometers uphill to reach the Pinnacle. This walk is steep, so be prepared with good walking shoes. The bus fare is approximately $4 each way.
