Car
If you're driving, head towards Mount Wellington. From the city center of Hobart, take the Davey Street exit onto the Southern Outlet (A6) and follow signs for Mount Wellington. Once you reach the Pinnacle Road, continue until you reach The Springs car park. From The Springs, follow the signs to Sphinx Rock Lookout, which is about a 30-minute walk along the well-marked track. The walk is relatively easy but does involve some uphill sections. There is no entry fee for the park.
Public Transportation
To reach Sphinx Rock Lookout via public transport, take a bus from Hobart to The Springs. Bus routes 446 and 447 operate from the city center to The Springs on weekends. Check the schedule ahead of time as services may be infrequent. Once you arrive at The Springs, follow the walking trail to Sphinx Rock Lookout. The walk takes approximately 30 minutes and offers beautiful views along the way. After your visit, you can return by catching the same bus back to Hobart.

If you are staying close to The Springs, you can simply walk to Sphinx Rock Lookout from your accommodation. Follow the walking track signs starting from The Springs car park. The trail is well-maintained and provides scenic views of the surrounding landscape. It is advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, especially on warmer days. The walk takes approximately 30 minutes.
