Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey in Mount Wellington. Head southeast on Huon Road/A6 towards South Wellington. Continue on Huon Road for approximately 15 km, keeping an eye out for the signs directing you to Wellington Park. Once you reach Wellington Park, follow the main road until you see the signs for South Wellington. Make sure to park at the designated parking areas near the hiking trails, as there may be parking fees of approximately AUD 5 for the day.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take the Metro Tasmania bus service from the city center of Hobart. Look for the bus route that goes towards Wellington Park. You will need to catch the bus at Elizabeth Street, stopping at the bus stop near the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. The bus journey will take about 30 minutes, and a one-way ticket costs around AUD 4. Get off at the Wellington Park stop, and from there, follow the signs leading to South Wellington. The walking distance from the bus stop to South Wellington is approximately 1 km.

  If you prefer to walk after reaching the bus stop in Wellington Park, follow the walking trails that lead to South Wellington. The trails are well-marked and offer stunning views of the surrounding area. Be prepared for a moderate hike that should take around 20-30 minutes. Ensure you wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry water, as there are no facilities along the hiking route.
