From the Byron Bay town center, start at the Byron Bay Visitor Information Centre located at 80 Jonson St. Head south on Jonson St towards Lawson St. Continue straight onto Lighthouse Rd. Follow Lighthouse Rd for about 2 kilometers until you reach the Broken Head Nature Reserve entrance. Once you enter the reserve, look for the signs directing you to the Broken Head picnic area. It's a pleasant walk of about 30 minutes from the Visitor Centre.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Byron Bay. Start your ride at the Byron Bay Visitor Information Centre at 80 Jonson St. Head south on Jonson St, turn right onto Lawson St, and continue straight onto Lighthouse Rd. Cycle along Lighthouse Rd for approximately 2 kilometers until you see the entrance to Broken Head Nature Reserve. Once you enter the reserve, follow the paths that lead to the Broken Head picnic area. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes.

To get to the Broken Head picnic area using public transport, walk to the nearest bus stop at Jonson St near the Byron Bay Visitor Information Centre. Catch the bus heading towards Ballina. Get off at the Broken Head Rd stop. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk down Broken Head Rd to the entrance of the Broken Head Nature Reserve. Once inside, follow the signs to the picnic area.
