Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Melbourne, which is approximately 250 kilometers away. Take the M1 (Princes Freeway) towards Geelong. Once you reach Geelong, follow the signs for the Great Ocean Road (B100). This scenic drive will take you through beautiful coastal towns and breathtaking views. Continue on the Great Ocean Road until you arrive at the Twelve Apostles, located at Great Ocean Rd & Booringa Rd, Princetown VIC 3269. There is a large car park available on-site, but be aware that there may be a parking fee during peak tourist seasons.
Public Transportation
To reach the Twelve Apostles via public transportation, start by taking a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Warrnambool. The journey takes approximately 3 hours. From Warrnambool, you can catch a local bus (the 3-4 service) that runs to the Twelve Apostles. Please check the current bus schedule in advance, as services may vary. Be aware that the bus may not run frequently, so plan accordingly. A total cost for the train and bus journey can be around AUD 30-50.
Tour Operator
Consider booking a day tour from Melbourne, which typically includes transportation to the Twelve Apostles and other attractions along the Great Ocean Road. These tours often include a guide, meals, and entry fees, and can range from AUD 100 to AUD 200 per person. This option is convenient if you prefer not to drive or navigate public transport.
