If you are starting at the main street of Port Douglas, Macrossan Street, walk towards the beachfront. Head towards the end of Macrossan Street and turn left onto the Four Mile Beach. Continue walking along the beach until you reach the northern end where Four Mile Beach meets Captain Cook Hwy. From there, you will see the entrance to Great Barrier Reef Drive right in front of you. It is about a 30-minute walk from the center of Port Douglas.

You can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops on Macrossan Street. Once you have your bike, head north on Macrossan Street until you reach the end of the street, then turn left onto the Captain Cook Hwy. Continue cycling for about 5 minutes, and you will see the entrance to Great Barrier Reef Drive. The ride is about 2 kilometers and takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
