Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Jindabyne, which is about 30 minutes away from Bullocks Hut. Head west on Kosciuszko Road towards the Snowy Mountains. After about 22 kilometers, turn right onto the Alpine Way. Follow the Alpine Way for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Kosciuszko National Park. Please note that there is a fee for entering the park, which is around AUD 17 per vehicle for a day pass. After entering the park, continue driving for about 5 kilometers until you reach the Bullocks Hut parking area, where you can park your vehicle.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transport, take a bus from Jindabyne to the Alpine Way. There may be limited bus services, so check the timetable ahead of time. Once you reach the Alpine Way, you will need to walk approximately 5 kilometers to reach Bullocks Hut. The walk involves some elevation gain, so ensure you wear suitable footwear and carry enough water. The bus fare usually ranges from AUD 5 to AUD 10 depending on the service.
Walking
If you are already within Kosciuszko National Park, you can also hike to Bullocks Hut. Look for the walking trails that lead to Bullocks Hut, which are well-marked. The walking distance varies depending on your starting point, but from the nearest parking area, it is approximately a 1.5-kilometer walk. The trails are generally easy to moderate in difficulty, making it a pleasant hike for most visitors.
