Train
If you are coming from Central Station, take the T2, T3, or T8 train towards Circular Quay. Alight at Circular Quay Station. From the station, exit and walk towards the harbour. Turn left onto Alfred Street, then continue straight until you reach the intersection with George Street. Turn right onto George Street and walk until you reach The Rocks area. Essex Street will be on your left.
Bus
Catch a bus from any major bus stop in Sydney towards The Rocks or Circular Quay. Look for bus numbers 333, 380, or 431. Alight at the stop closest to the Museum of Contemporary Art or Circular Quay. From there, walk towards the harbour and turn left onto Alfred Street. Continue walking straight and turn right onto George Street. Essex Street will be on your left.
Ferry
If you are near Darling Harbour, you can catch a ferry from Pyrmont Bridge to Circular Quay. Once you arrive at Circular Quay, exit the ferry and walk towards the harbour. Turn left onto Alfred Street, then continue straight until you reach George Street. Turn right onto George Street, and Essex Street will be on your left as you enter The Rocks.
Light Rail
Take the Light Rail from locations such as Dulwich Hill or Central Station to the Haymarket stop. From Haymarket, walk towards the city along Thomas Street until you reach George Street. Turn right onto George Street and continue straight until you reach The Rocks area. Essex Street will be on your left.
Walking
If you are already in the city center, it's a pleasant walk to The Rocks. Start at Martin Place and head towards George Street. Walk north along George Street, passing through the historic architecture. Continue until you reach The Rocks area, where Essex Street intersects with Gloucester Street. The destination will be on your right.
