Public Transport (Train + Bus)
From Central Station in Sydney, take the T1 North Shore Line train towards Berowra. Get off at Gordon Station. Once you arrive at Gordon, exit the station and look for Bus Stop G, where you can catch Bus 588 towards Akuna Bay. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the West Head Lookout stop on W Head Rd. From there, it's a short walk to the lookout point.
Public Transport (Bus Only)
From the city center, head to the nearest major bus station, such as Wynyard Station. Catch the 199 bus towards Palm Beach. Change at Mona Vale and transfer to Bus 589 towards West Head. Get off at the West Head Lookout stop on W Head Rd. It may take around 1.5 hours total travel time, depending on connections.

If you are near the Manly area, take the ferry from Manly Wharf to Circular Quay. From Circular Quay, walk to Wynyard Station and take the 199 bus towards Palm Beach.
