Walking
If you are in Circular Quay, start by walking towards the Sydney Opera House. From the Opera House, walk towards the Royal Botanic Garden. Enter the garden and continue walking through the paths until you reach Macquarie Street. Exit the garden and turn right onto Macquarie Street. Continue walking north until you reach the intersection with Bent Street. Turn left onto Bent Street and then right onto Bligh Street. After a short walk, you will reach Richard Johnson Square where the Richard Johnson Obelisk is located.
Public Transport - Bus
If you are near Town Hall Station, take Bus 441 from the Town Hall bus stop. Ride the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the Bligh Street and Hunter Street stop. From there, walk a short distance down Bligh Street towards Richard Johnson Square. The obelisk is located at the square, just a few steps away from the bus stop.
Public Transport - Train
If you are near Central Station, take the T2, T3, T4, or T8 train towards Circular Quay. Get off at Circular Quay Station. Once you exit the station, walk towards the Sydney Opera House and then follow the directions provided for walking from Circular Quay through the Royal Botanic Garden to Richard Johnson Square.
