Getting There

• Train

  If you're starting from Central Station, take the T2, T3, or T8 train towards Circular Quay. The journey takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive at Circular Quay Station, exit the station and head towards the waterfront. You'll see a large open area with views of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Keep walking along the path towards the Royal Botanic Garden.

• Bus

  You can catch a bus from various points in the city. For example, if you are near Town Hall, catch the 441 bus towards Watsons Bay. Get off at the Macquarie St at Hospital stop. From there, walk south along Macquarie Street, then turn right into the Royal Botanic Garden. The walk will take about 5-10 minutes.

• Ferry

  Catch a ferry from Circular Quay to the Garden Island Ferry Wharf. The ferry ride offers beautiful views of the harbor and takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive, disembark and walk towards the entrance of the Royal Botanic Garden, which is a short stroll away.

• Walking

  If you are already in the city center, walking to the Royal Botanic Garden is a pleasant option. From the Sydney Opera House, simply walk along the waterfront promenade towards the garden. It is about a 10-minute walk. Alternatively, you can start from the Art Gallery of New South Wales, which is located just across the street. Walk down Art Gallery Road, and you will find the entrance to the Royal Botanic Garden.

• Light Rail

  If you're near the Light Rail network, take the L1 line towards Dulwich Hill and get off at the Central Station stop. From there, follow the train guidance to Circular Quay, and then continue as per the train instructions above. The walk from Circular Quay to the Royal Botanic Garden is straightforward and scenic.
