To reach Great Lakes Lookout from Hobart, take the A1 highway heading north. After approximately 1.5 hours, merge onto the A10 highway towards the Central Highlands. Continue on the A10 for about 1 hour until you reach the intersection with the B51 road. Turn left onto B51 and continue for approximately 20 minutes. You will see signs for Great Lakes Lookout. There is a car park available at the lookout.

If you are starting from Launceston, head southwest on the A1 highway for about 1 hour. Merge onto the B51 highway towards the Central Plateau. Follow the B51 road for about 30 minutes until you reach the Great Lakes Lookout. Look for signage indicating the lookout, and there will be a designated parking area.

For travelers using public transportation, you can take a bus from Hobart to Launceston. Once in Launceston, you will need to rent a car or take a taxi to reach Great Lakes Lookout, as there are no direct public transport options to the lookout itself.
