If you are driving from the city of Dubbo, take the Mitchell Highway (A39) heading east towards Sydney. Continue on the A39 for about 400 km until you reach the outskirts of Sydney. Merge onto the M4 Motorway towards the city. Follow the signs for the city and continue until you reach the exit for Parramatta Road. Keep following the signs for the city centre. Once in the city, park your car in a nearby parking facility and then walk to Butler Stairs located at 2011 Sydney. The stairs are near the coastline at Watsons Bay, and you can enjoy a scenic view there.

Public Transportation
If you are taking public transportation from Newcastle, catch a train from Newcastle Interchange to Central Station in Sydney. This journey takes about 2.5 hours. Once at Central Station, transfer to the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line towards Bondi Junction. Get off at Bondi Junction Station. From Bondi Junction, you can take a bus (Bus 389) directly to Watsons Bay. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. After arriving at Watsons Bay, follow the signs to Butler Stairs which is a short walk from the bus stop.
