From the parking area, you will need to purchase a ticket for the cable car (around €38 for a round trip) which will take you to the Dachstein mountain station, where you can access the Ice Cave.

If you prefer public transport, take a train to the town of Obertraun. The nearest train station is in Hallstatt, which is well connected to major cities in Austria. From Hallstatt station, take the bus (bus line 543) towards Obertraun. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Obertraun, walk to the Dachstein cable car station, which is approximately a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the bus stop to the cable car station for about €10. At the cable car station, purchase your ticket for the ride to the Dachstein mountain station (around €38 for a round trip).
