Car
From the center of Obertraun, drive towards the L547 road. Follow the signs to the Dachstein Mountain area. Once you reach the intersection with the L546, turn left onto L546 towards Hallstatt. Continue on this road for approximately 2 kilometers until you see signs directing you to Dreistein, which is located near the entrance of the wildlife refuge. Parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
Take a train from any major city in Austria to Hallstatt. Upon arriving at Hallstatt train station, take the bus number 543 towards Obertraun. Get off at the Dreistein stop, which is close to the wildlife refuge. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes, and buses run frequently. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for exact times.
Walking
If you are already in Obertraun, you can walk to Dreistein. Start at the center of Obertraun and head towards the L547 road. Follow the road signs towards the wildlife refuge. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to enjoy the scenic views along the way.
