Getting There

• Public Transport

  From Dornbirn city center, walk to the Dornbirn train station (Bahnhof Dornbirn). You can reach the station by heading north on Bahnhofstraße, which will take you directly to the station. Once at the station, take a train towards the direction of St. Gallen. Get off at the next stop, which is in the town of Bregenz. At Bregenz train station, transfer to a bus headed towards Schwende. The bus stop is right next to the train station. Board the bus and ensure it is heading towards Schwende. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at Schwende. From the bus stop, follow the signs to the hiking trail that leads to the Äscher Guesthouse. It’s about a 30-minute hike uphill from there.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, from the center of Dornbirn, make your way to the local bus station located at the Dornbirn Stadtgarten. There, you can catch a local bus heading towards Schwende. Once you arrive at Schwende, you will need to follow the hiking trail that leads to Äscher. The trail is well-marked, and the hike will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Ensure you have comfortable shoes and take your time enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way.

• Taxi

  You can also opt for a taxi from Dornbirn directly to Äscher. Simply call a local taxi service or use a ride-hailing app if available. Provide the driver with the address 'Äscher 1, 9057 Schwende'. The taxi will take you as close to the Äscher Guesthouse as possible, though be prepared for a short hike if the taxi cannot reach the exact location due to road access.
