Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from Lienz, the main city in East Tyrol. Take the B100 highway south towards Sillian. Continue on the B100 until you reach the Italian border, where it becomes SS52. Follow SS52 until you reach Auronzo di Cadore. From Auronzo, take the SP49 road toward Misurina. Follow the road for about 15 km until you reach the parking area for Monte Piano at the end of the road. Parking may incur a fee, typically around €5 for the day.

  • Public Transport

    For those using public transportation, take a train from Lienz to Calalzo di Cadore. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive at Calalzo di Cadore, you will need to take a local bus (line 445) that goes to Auronzo di Cadore. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Upon reaching Auronzo, transfer to the shuttle service or local bus heading to Misurina. The shuttle service often runs during the summer months and costs around €3-5. Once at Misurina, you will find the parking area for Monte Piano.
