Car
If you're traveling by car, begin your journey from Lienz, the largest town in East Tyrol. Head northwest on B100 towards Amlach, then merge onto B108. Continue on B108 until you reach the town of Obergösel. From there, follow the signs for Auronzo di Cadore, which will lead you onto SS51. Stay on SS51 for about 30 kilometers until you reach Auronzo di Cadore. Once in Auronzo, look for local signage directing you towards Paternkofel, which is located in the nearby Dolomites.

To reach Paternkofel using public transportation, start at the Lienz train station. Take a regional train towards Calalzo di Cadore, which typically takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive in Auronzo di Cadore, look for signs or ask locals about the best way to reach the Paternkofel.
