Walking
From the center of Eisenstadt, start at the Hauptplatz. Walk south on Hauptstraße for about 800 meters until you reach the Eisenstadt train station (Bahnhof Eisenstadt). Once you arrive at the station, purchase a ticket for a train to Vienna. The train ride will take approximately 50 minutes. After your arrival at Wien Hauptbahnhof (Vienna Central Station), follow the signs to the U-Bahn (subway) station. Take the U1 line in the direction of Stephansplatz and get off at the Stephansplatz station. From there, you can easily walk to the Innere Stadt, which is about a 5-minute walk. Look for the iconic St. Stephen's Cathedral as your guide to reach the heart of Innere Stadt.
Bus
Start at the Hauptplatz in Eisenstadt. Walk to the nearby bus stop located on Hauptstraße. Take the bus number 290 towards Wien (Vienna). The bus ride will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Wien, Schwedenplatz' stop. Once you disembark, walk towards the Danube Canal, and you will find signs directing you to Innere Stadt. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from Schwedenplatz to the heart of Innere Stadt, where you can explore the historic sites.
