Car
If you are driving from the town of Salzburg, take the A10 motorway towards Villach. After about 50 km, take exit 47-Werfen. Follow the signs for B162 towards Werfen. Continue on B162 until you reach the village of Werfen. Once in Werfen, follow the signs to Burg Hohenwerfen. You will find parking available near the castle entrance.

To reach Burg Hohenwerfen by public transport, start at the main train station in Salzburg. Take a train bound for Bischofshofen. This journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bischofshofen, transfer to a local bus (Bus line 660) that goes directly to Werfen. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Werfen, Burg Hohenwerfen' which is a short walk from the castle entrance.
