If you are traveling by car along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, drive towards the Grossglockner Glacier area. Continue your journey until you reach the parking area at the start of the hiking trail leading to Oberer Glatzsee. The closest major parking area is at the 'Pflanzgarten' viewpoint, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from the toll station at the entrance of the road. Note that there is a toll fee of around €38 for a car, valid for one day, giving you access to the entire road. After parking, follow the marked hiking trail for about 1.5 to 2 hours (approximately 4.5 km) towards Oberer Glatzsee, enjoying the stunning alpine scenery along the way.

To reach Oberer Glatzsee via public transportation, take a bus from Kals am Großglockner to the 'Pflanzgarten' stop. The bus service operates seasonally, so check the local timetable in advance. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes.
