Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Scharnitz. From the center of Scharnitz, take the B2 road and follow the signs for Naturpark Karwendel. The park is approximately 3 km from the center of Scharnitz, and there is parking available at the main entrance. Please note that parking may incur a fee, so be sure to check signage for costs.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a train to the 'Scharnitz' station. Trains run regularly from Innsbruck or Munich. Once you arrive at Scharnitz station, exit the station and walk towards the village center. Follow the local signs directing you to Naturpark Karwendel, which is about a 20-minute walk (approximately 1.5 km) from the station. Alternatively, local buses may offer services to the park, but check the current schedule as it may vary.

• Walking

  If you are already within the Karwendel Mountains, the park can be accessed via numerous hiking trails. Look for signs directing you to Naturpark Karwendel. A common starting point is from the trailheads around Scharnitz. Ensure you have a good map or GPS, as some trails can be remote and less marked.
