While the castle's original name is lost to time, its remains tell a story of medieval life and defense.The castle's construction features a shield wall, about 2.5 meters thick, made of quarry stone. This wall, though partially ruined, still stands about 2 meters high. The layout includes a rectangular structure stretching approximately 60 meters, with foundations suggesting a tower at the west end. A double moat and rampart system protected the castle's eastern approach.Historical records about Burgruine Möstling are scarce. It's believed the castle served as a refuge during Bohemian invasions in the 14th century and the Hussite wars in the 15th century. The castle was likely destroyed during the Hussite wars and never rebuilt. Today, the site offers visitors a chance to explore the remnants of medieval architecture and enjoy the natural beauty of the Austrian countryside.
