The museum is housed in a traditional wooden building, the birthplace of Hubert Salcher, creating an authentic and immersive atmosphere. Inside, visitors can explore over 3,000 wooden exhibits spread across two floors and 1,000 square meters. The collection includes everything from antique tools and handcrafted furniture to intricate carvings and curious wooden objects. Highlights include a wooden bicycle with a wooden chain, traditional masks, Christmas cribs, and even a wooden bra. The museum also features a recreation of Salcher's grandfather's cobbler workshop, complete with original tools and handmade leather shoes with wooden soles. Beyond the exhibits, the museum offers a unique glimpse into the region's history and the artistry of woodcarving dating back to the 17th century. An adjacent wood-themed trail with 14 stations further enhances the experience, providing additional insights into the world of wood.
