    From Salzburg's Altstadt (Old Town), follow the signs towards Hohensalzburg Fortress. The walk uphill takes approximately 20 minutes via steep cobblestone paths. Note that the footpath is not fully accessible. Upon reaching the Sperrbogen (entrance gate), a Basic Ticket for the footpath is required, costing €11.20 for adults.

    Public Transport

    Take bus lines 21, 22, or 23 to the Festungsbahn stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Festungsbahn funicular, which ascends to the fortress. A single public transport ticket costs between €2.40 and €3.00 depending on where it is purchased. A round-trip funicular ticket is included in the Fortress entry ticket, with a Basic Ticket costing €14.50 for adults.

    Taxi

    Taxis can drop you off near the Festungsbahn valley station. From there, take the funicular to the fortress. A taxi ride from the Salzburg train station to the fortress area costs approximately €9-20, depending on traffic and time of day.
