Walking
The Marktbrunnen is centrally located on Universitätsplatz, making it easily accessible on foot from most points in Salzburg's Altstadt (Old Town). From Salzburg Cathedral, walk west along Kapitelgasse, then turn left onto Universitätsplatz. The fountain will be in the center of the square. No costs involved.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus, the closest bus stops are 'Rathaus' or 'Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz'. From either stop, it's a short walk to Universitätsplatz. Single bus fares within Salzburg cost approximately €2.50. From the Rathaus bus stop, walk south towards the Salzburg Museum and continue onto Universitätsplatz. The Marktbrunnen will be visible in the center of the square.
