Getting There

Car
If driving, navigate to Obertraun, at the base of the Dachstein Mountains. From the A10 motorway, take Exit 60 towards Obertraun and follow the B166. In Obertraun, signs will direct you to the Dachstein Glacier cable car station. Park in the designated area for approximately €5 per day. Purchase a round-trip cable car ticket to the Dachstein summit for around €39 for adults and €19 for children.

Take a train to Obertraun Dachsteinbahnhof station. From Salzburg, a train to Hallstatt followed by a local train to Obertraun is an option. From the station, it's a 30-minute walk or a short taxi ride (approximately €10) to the Dachstein Glacier cable car station. Follow signs to the cable car. Purchase a round-trip cable car ticket to the summit for around €40. From Schladming, the Ramsauer Verkehrsbetriebe (RVB) bus to the Dachstein Türlwandhütte costs about €1.50 for adults and €1.00 for children, including the toll.
